Safe chatting, built in.

heylu.app is about meeting new people, and that only works if everyone feels safe. That's why safety tools are part of every chat, and why a real moderation team reviews what gets reported.

Reporting

If someone breaks the rules, report them right away. It takes one click and you're connected to someone new immediately.

    During a video chat

    Press the red Report button in the top right corner of your partner's video and pick a reason.

    During a text chat

    Use Report next to your partner's name at the top of the chat.

  3. 3

    With a shortcut

    Set up your own keyboard shortcuts for each report reason in your settings.

What happens after a report

At the moment of the report we save a screenshot of both cameras and the chat history. Our moderators review it, and anyone who breaks the rules is banned.

    Flag someone with one click. Screenshots and the chat history are saved automatically for our team.

  • Next

    Not feeling it? Skip to the next person instantly with Esc on desktop or a swipe on your phone.

  • Blur

    Blur your partner's video with one click, or have every new chat start blurred by default.

  • Ninja mode

    Hide your age, gender and location while you're being matched.

  • Friend requests

    Decide who can reach you later. You can turn off friend requests completely.

  • Verified accounts

    Every account is confirmed by email and heylu.app is for adults only. That keeps most bots and trolls out.

  • Live moderation

    To protect everyone, moderators can watch, listen to and read ongoing chats live.

Community rules

These rules apply to every chat on heylu.app. Breaking them leads to a ban.

    You must be at least 18 years old.

    No nudity, sexual acts or offensive content on camera.

  3. 3

    No insults, harassment, threats or hate speech.

  4. 4

    No advertising, no spam and no links to third-party offers.

  5. 5

    Don't record others without their consent.

    To protect everyone, moderators can watch, listen to and read ongoing video and text chats live.

    If you are reported, we save screenshots of both cameras and the chat history for review. Violations lead to a ban.
